    Job Description
    Looking for a CBRF/RCAC Certified Nursing Assistant provides assistance with the activities of daily living, a safe environment, physical comfort, and emotional and social support to our residents.  Medication certification certificate would be a plus!


     
    Essential Job Duties:                                                                                                
     
     
    • Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising. Assist and supervise residents who require help with walking.
    • Gives treatments, performs tests, carries out procedures and collects specimens as instructed. Take and record temperature, pulse and respiration rates and food and fluid intake and output.
    • Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures and specimens when indicated.
    • Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
    • Answers signal lights promptly.
    • Changes bed linens, makes beds and keeps rooms clean and orderly.
    • Serve and collect food trays and assist residents that require help with feeding.
    • Report any observed changes in resident’s condition to the nurse.
     
    Other Duties:
     
     
    • Maintains safe and sanitary work stations and equipment.
    • Encourages independence, attendance at activities, restorative programs and rehabilitation.
    • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
    • Follow established infection control/isolation policies and procedures.
    • Comply with the Resident’s Bill of Rights.
    • Assist other staff members as needed within the limits of training and certification.
    • Abide by Nursing Department policies, practices and standards of care.
    • All employees are expected to respond to emergency situations involving the safety of residents, other employees and our physical plant.  This includes the ability to assist with a possible evacuation of residents.
    • All employees are responsible to adhere to all facility policy and procedures as they relate to compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Medicare Compliance.  All employees are responsible to ensure that any Protected Health Information and Medicare Compliance Information that he/she comes in contact with is maintained in a confidential manner.
    • Abide by emergency, safety and health regulations. Eliminate or report all hazardous conditions as they occur.
    • Abide by all rules and policies set forth by the company and department.
    • Attends in-service training and education session, as required.
    • Employees are responsible to perform any other duties as assigned.
    • Employees are expected to embrace a culture of hospitality and follow the 10 Hospitality Promises.
     
    Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Prior CNA experience and experience in long-term care facility, preferred.
    • Must have current Certified Nurse Assistant registration with the State of Wisconsin.
    • Must have CBRF certification, or ability to obtain certification within 90 days.
    • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic.  Ability to document care given.
    • Possesses ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.  Must use sound judgment, works well under pressure and possesses strong organizational skills.
     
    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
     
    Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; may be exposed to blood and body fluids which may contain HIV and/or HBV; must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, gerichair or shower chair, pushing up to 150 lbs. unassisted.  Must be able to transfer, lift, turn and position a resident weighing up to 125 lbs. unassisted, or with the assistance of one for a resident weighing over 125 lbs. Must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, squat, stand, and walk for up to 90% of the work day.  May be subjected to offensive odors and combative behavior.  Must be able to reach up to a level of six feet; must be able to push a dietary cart up to 40 lbs unassisted. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally.
     
     
    Equipment Utilized:
     
    Common electrical switches, plumbing valves and regulators, wheelchairs, walkers, transfer/repositioning devices, gait belt, bathing equipment, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope
