The Mequon Festivals Committee is excited to introduce a third event to its festival line-up, the Redbud Festival! The Festival will highlight the Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary Club’s Redbud Project which began in 2011. The vision of the Project is to cultivate springtime beauty along the Riverwalk and throughout the Town Center to draw local citizens and visitors alike to enjoy community amenities. The Redbud Festival will be an art and garden festival that will launch on Saturday, May 10, from noon – 5:00 p.m. when the redbud trees will be in full bloom. The event is taking place on Mother’s Day weekend with several free activities to celebrate moms such as make-your-own flower bouquets, a photo booth to make Mother’s Day cards, a succulent workshop (pre-signup required at the link below), MTSD art displays, and plein air artists painting the redbud trees. There will also be craft vendors, food trucks, and Whole Yachta Love will be the music headliner. To celebrate the festival’s first year, a Mequon map was created and prints will be available for sale (sizes 16 X 24 & 24 X 36) and on tote bags. Pre-order yours at this link. Pick-up will be available on May 10 or afterwards at City Hall. Thank you to event sponsors Sommer’s Automotive, M-T Sunrise Rotary Club, Kohler Credit Union, Junior Woman’s Club of M-T, Annex Wealth Management, and Town Bank!
